I was thinking it would be awesome if they made MMORPGs for PlayStation and NOT just multi-player mode but for campaigns as well because even when I'm being anti-social by sitting on my ass playing video games all day I do enjoy being somewhat social.

I believe final fantasy xiv is out on playstation (its at least out for xbox) and its a pretty great game, but keep in mind any MMO worth playing is going to be a pay to play model, usually around $10-15 a month. Don't bother with free to play they are generally crap. every once in a while you will come across a game that is buy to play (you pay for it once and thats it) that is decent (guild wars 2 for example) but its still a rarity to find a decent one.
But honestly, with the ps4 and xbox one, I can see the MMO market really hitting those consoles. As a PC gamer I hate that idea as those consoles are already really soaking up the market and MMO's are pretty much all we have left that are PC exclusive, but hey, the businesses don't discriminate, they simply float to wherever the cash flow is.

The chances of them actually doing anything with MMORPGs is slim but it would just be nice to see. I can dream, but unfortunately most game designers become greedy bastards once the get a taste of what it's like to produce a successful game and then start over charging for subscriptions n' such.

actually really not why they charge for the subscriptions like that. There are 2 main reasons, 1 being that to keep the servers up (they are EXTREMELY large servers at that...) is very expensive, where as without a subscription cash flow that is constant, they would generally start to lose money by keeping the servers up
The 2nd reason is because a lot of the consumers WANT them to charge a subscription fee. There are a couple reasons for this, 1 because in a free to play game (one without a subscription) there is a constant flow of 3rd party bots that spam in chat advertising their in game services that arent from the game developers, in a pay to play they can actually control the spam and you generally wont get any spam. 2 because on a free to play game they have to make money SOMEHOW! so they sell in game items, which in that case the game becomes COMPLETELY one sided, where the people that spend the most money on in game items rule over everyone else in the game, and 3rd reason being that it keeps the trash talking 10 year olds off the game! the majority of the community in a pay to play model are adults that work and pay for it themselves, its rare that there are parents that will pay a monthly sub for their snobby little trash talking 10 year old to play lol
These are all the reasons I say stay away from any free to play game lol
